More Than a Wave Workshop Weekend with Alex

This weekend with Alex offers a deep dive into the art of waving, blending technique, creativity, and personal exploration. We’ll begin by building a strong foundation, understanding the mechanics and principles behind waves to create clear, intentional movement and seamless flow through the body and space.
From there, we’ll expand into creative concepts, using tools like tracing and floorwork to unlock new ways of thinking, moving, and composing. Through guided exercises, participants will learn how to transform simple ideas into dynamic, expressive movement, turning practice into a space for exploration and play.

Beyond technique and creation, this intensive invites a deeper journey inward. Using waving as a medium, we’ll explore connection, sensation, and expression. This allows for movement to become a language that reflects both inner experience and artistic voice.
Together, this weekend is more than just training. It’s an opportunity to refine your movement, expand your creativity, and reconnect with what truly moves you.
PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITY
All participants, whether joining for a day or the full weekend, may apply to perform in the Bridge Street Dance Open Stage at The Avalon Lounge in Catskill, NY! Set in the dynamic, club-like atmosphere of The Avalon Lounge, this evening brings together dancers from the workshops of all levels and styles, from fusion belly dance to waving and more.
Performance spots are limited, and final placement will be determined by the organizers.
